Your donation removes these hurdles by funding Mutual Aid initiatives, childbirth education, and the Community Doula Network—improving outcomes and building power for families across DC, Maryland, and Virginia (the DMV).

Today, our doulas generously volunteer their time as an act of community mutual aid. Your gift ensures they have the training, resources, and bedside advocacy tools required to continue offering compassionate, culturally rooted care to the families they serve. While they give their time, your support covers the essential costs that make their work possible.

How Your Donation Makes an Impact

Expands Access to Care:
Every contribution strengthens our ability to provide free childbirth education, community-based perinatal support, and volunteer doula services through the Community Doula Network.

Supports Volunteer Doulas:

While our doulas currently provide their labor as an act of community mutual aid, your gift covers the essential costs that allow them to serve without financial strain. This includes:

• Professional Sustainability: Liability insurance and certification support.

• Essential Supplies: Birth bags, educational materials, and comfort tools for clients.

• Removing Barriers for Advocates: Assistance with transportation and childcare for mandatory trainings.

• Growth: Continuing education and peer-learning workshops.

These supports ensure our doulas can continue offering high-quality bedside advocacy while we build the infrastructure for a future paid community doula model.

Your generosity helps us build the infrastructure to move toward a paid community doula model. We are preparing the systems needed for Medicaid reimbursement and insurance partnerships to ensure our doulas are fairly compensated for their life-saving work.

“Sponsor a Family” – Help Remove Barriers to Care:
A gift of $800 supports the full participation of one family in our program by covering the costs associated with training, supporting, and equipping the volunteer doula who serves them. This sponsorship ensures a family receives continuous, culturally grounded care—regardless of income or insurance.

Centers Equity & Community:
Funds are allocated with an equity lens—prioritizing families with the greatest needs and ensuring doulas can provide consistent, high-quality care throughout the DMV.
